Weilan is an Eastern mermaid who appears in season three of Mako: Island of Secrets, replacing Sirena in the trio. She is skilled with self-defense and eastern magic. She is portrayed by Linda Ngo.
Unlike the other mermaids of the series, she was raised on land since her childhood. Because of this, she was more familiar with human culture and the opposite sex - boys - in general. When she heard about a merman being part of the Mako pod, she was ecstatic to finally meet the mermaid equivalent to men. Because of this reversal, Weilan is ignorant of mermaid beliefs and customs.
Trivia[]
- She starts out sleeping like a human on land, complete with pajamas; since Weilan was raised like a human. Though once she bonds more with the girls and mermaid culture, she starts sleeping in the moon pool as a mermaid.
- During one episode, Weilan goofed up a spell to share her knowledge with Zac; as a result, the next day they were having a very slow Freaky Friday as they morphed into the other; hair, limbs, and voices.
- By the time they managed to reverse the spell, they had swapped sexes below the waistline. It was made less awkward by the fact they were both merpeople at the time; as only their tails changed color.
- Presumably, Weilan did what Madison did to stay hydrated on land, by soaking in a bathtub.
